ClassicHal

whoa, that is so long!

Hal is one of the more calmer members of Red’s flock, all he ever wanted to do with his life is to go on a adventure of a lifetime, unfortunately, it usually ends up with him getting ambushed and captured by the pigs even though he himself have no actual interest in fighting them in the first place. But if Hal isn’t interested in fighting pigs, then what is his hobbies? you’re probably wondering, for starters, he’s really good at playing banjo, especially by the campfire, another hobby of his is to launch from the slingshot and drift across the sky like a boomerang!

Speaking of drifting across the sky like a boomerang, he has a long beak that can resemble the shape of a boomerang when it’s open wide, but that’s not just for looking cool, it also effect the way he travel through the air, when his beak is in its “boomerang mode”, Hal himself will fly away from his original direction and back to the direction where he came from, thus earning him the nickname “Boomerang Bird”, his large beak is also useful for hitting pigs like it’s some sort of melee weapon, although the beak does have its flaws, as Hal will always end up tripping over it or accidentally banging into things. Hal is the friendly bird, he’s an open book who has no secrets what so ever, he also gets along with every member of the flock, and yes, that includes the hyperactive Chuck and the mischievous Blues, one member he enjoy spending time with in particular is the Red, the flock’s leader, even though they usually have opposite views of things, for example, Hal think Red too uptight on protecting the eggs while Red thinks Hal doesn’t take fighting the pigs seriously enough, both of which are true.

"How do we make sure that the bird stays in the cage?" "I know! we'll put highly destructive explosives around the cage!"

Again!?

The new bird featured in the Danger Above update, Hal made his debut in 6-4 as a prisoner inside a cage within the fortress featured in the level, after the level is beaten, Hal will be freed from the cage and the game will congratulate the player by showing Hal's sprite in the middle of the screen while playing the "bonus Golden Egg level complete" sound effect, afterwards, Hal is never seen again in the cage.

After all that, Hal is available for the player use, making him the sixth introduced bird type, Hal is very unique, when he is launched from the slingshot, not only does he spin endlessly, his launching distance is slightly farther than the rest of the flock, but wait, there's more! when Hal is spining in the air lIke a maniac, the player on the other side of the forth wall can tap the screen to make the bird open his beak wide and form the shape of a boomerang, and in the process, the bird will fly backwards like a boomerang, earning him the title of "boomerang bird", and that's not even all of it, while some birds are good at breaking one specific material type, this fella right here can smash through not one, but two material types with ease! that being wood and glass, what else could you ask for?

In The Big Setup update, Hal is once again captured by the pigs, only this time, the rest of the flock is captured too! luckily, Terence managed to free him from his second bird cage, and two birds together went on a demolition derby, demolishing structures that has been rebuilt after having previously been destroyed by the rest of the birds.

Since then, Hal was never put inside a cage ever again.

Angry Birds Seasons Edit

Hal appears again in Angry Birds Seasons (originally known as Angry Birds Halloween)He is introduced in level 1-13, and is the very last bird introduced in this theme. After his appearance in Trick or Treat, he makes reacurring appearances as a playable character in all of the following themes. Unlike the rest of the installments in the Angry Birds series, Angry Birds Seasons does not update Hal's design to his newer one, as stays true to the original design

Hal's gameplay is identical to the one in the original game. There are no major changes or differences in his size, strength, or speed. However, it is notable that when you fling Hal from the slingshot, his launch noises are much more different than the ones featured in the regular game. It can be noted that in Piglantis, (introduced the feature of water), Hal's ability is completely useless underwater. If the player tries to attempt to activate Hal underwater, then he will instantly turn into a corpse and float to the surface.

Angry Birds Rio Edit

Hal appears very later on in the game, being introduced in the last theme of Rio 1, Smuggler's Plane. (unless you include Market Mayhem, which was not actually part of the Rio Storyline, but more so based off a deleted scene)  However, after his first appearance he manages to appear oftenly in the Rio 2 segment of the game. He is introduced with his newer design, which included no yellow ring around his beak and a generally slimmer appearance, to match his appearance in the Coca-Cola animations

Hal's ability is the same as the previous 2 installments of Angry Birds. However, unlike Angry Birds Seasons, Hal's ability will positively react with water, and will work properly. (High Dive)

With moving boss fights, Hal will make minimal to decent damage when he comes in contact with the boss. In most boss fights he's in, there are usually collapsable structures that only he can reach, making him an advantage to have when you want to defeat the boss.

Angry Birds Go! Edit

Hal makes an appearance in Angry Birds Go! This is his first game in which he uses the Coca-Cola animation design for him.

This first of the Grimlock variants to unlock, Grey Slam Grimlock gives Terence a stroll for his money in the slowness department. Even in cycle mode, Grimlock is a slowpoke. But like Terence, he's heavily armored, and his firepower is intimidating. His weapon is an electric-breath blast that strikes its target instantly (unless something gets in the way), making it very effective for taking out missiles. The blast will persist until the target is destroyed or you choose a new target. However, if Grimlock keeps exhaling electricity for too long, he'll overheat, leaving him without a weapon for a few seconds. Watch for the targeter to glow red, a warning that you should lay off the laser. A mix of precision blasts and sweeping strikes can devastate towers in short order.

The candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long. Energon Grimlock has a pretty dang good turn of speed compared to the other versions, and his electric breath is absolutely devastating in its power, able to take out Walking Mortar Towers with relative ease. Unfortunately, he also overheats much faster than the others, requiring more frequent breaks between blasts, otherwise he's left defenseless for several seconds. If he attacks again immediately after his weapon cools down, he is only capable of a very short-duration burst, needing a few more seconds to recharge for a longer blast.

As with all Energon variants, he takes extra damage from enemy attacks, but can heal damage in levels by absorbing energon cubes from de-cyberformed scenery.

Goldbite Grimlock packs a lot of raw power into his slow frame. Stronger and better-armored than Grey Slam, his weapon can actually push blocks and pigs off their towers. He also unlocks his full 3-cube Energonicon ability at Level 2. Yowza.
As an "Ultimate" Variant Version character, Goldbite Grimmers gets an additional 100% Coin bonus at the end of any level. Combined with his slow speed giving you ample time to eliminate every block, Pig and missile in your path (even more missiles at 30 Coins a whack since they fire at timed intervals regardless of character speed), an extra 100% Coin bonus for a complete Squad (Goldbite is the final member of that squad to unlock), then doubling all of that by watching an ad, you can really rack up a huge Coin score, potentially earning tens of thousands of Coins in a single run... especially if you add Goldbrick into the mix. Buuuuuuuut, if Goldbite fails a level, he gets no Coins whatsoever.

Trypticon (which very loosely means "Oops. I just accidentally stepped on that." in Latin) is louder, hungrier, and stompier than the Autobird he was redecoed from. He is also one of the few new characters that unlocks his full 3-cube Energonicon ability at Level 2.

Similar to Dark Megatron Pig, he fires three to four black holes at a time.

Trypticon came stomping in in the late April 2017 event "Ultimate Weapon" at an even higher 10000 token cost. But in addition to the recent increased tokens in challenges, this competition awarded more tokens to a wider bracket of players, so it was not that ludicrous. Unfortunately, the other new characters that followed went back to the old leaderboard scoring.

Trypticon's IAP bundle set the newest inflated trend for new character bundles, containing the new character, 550-600 gems, 6000 Spark, and one unique accessory for around $35.

Angry Birds Transformers comic Edit

Angry Birds Transformers #1 Edit

Hal was happily playing his banjo by his lonesome when the three Blues came upon him. The three little birds informed him that they were planning on stopping the Bad Piggies on their own, prompting Hal to join them out of a sense of responsibility. When they came upon King Pig and his minions, they were startled by Starscream Pigzipping past them. Hiding behind a bush, Hal warned the Blues that something big was going down, and sent them off to fetch the rest of the Flock. As the Blues flew off, Hal witnessed the rest of the Bad Piggies touch the EggSpark to upgrade themselves into Deceptihogs. Chuck was the first bird to rejoin Hal. But the yellow bird came in too fast, knocking both himself and Hal into the EggSpark, and transforming them into Bumblebee Bird and Grimlock Bird respectively. Grimlock Bird's transformation changed his personality completely; no longer the laid-back easygoing bird he once was, he now hungered for combat and violence. He managed to push Bumblebee Bird out of the way after the Deceptihogs sent forth their first attack volley, and then became enraged that the pigs had attempted to hurt his friend.

Transforming and unleashing a torrent of flame, he sent the Deceptihogs fleeing, though only after causing the Flock's eggs to be exposed the the EggSpark's energies.

Age of Eggstinction! Edit

The rest of the Flock then came upon the two Autobirds. A display of Grimlock Bird's newfound short temper greatly upset the Blues. Grimlock Bird informed the trio that he believed that any bird incapable of transforming was "useless." To make his point, he transformed into... a sort of "wheelbarrow mode." The Blues were unimpressed, stating that a motorcycle form would be much more useful. Grimlock Bird lost his temper once more, stating that he was still getting the hang of transforming. He then ran off to take care of the Deceptihogs on his own.

Following the pigs' tracks, he came upon the tower that his quarry was hiding in. He burst in, trampling Soundwave Pig and headbutting Galvatron Pig in the process. He was then knocked out by a bump on the noggin', courtesy of Lockdown Pig.

Revenge of the Fowlin'! Edit

By the time Grimlock Bird regained consciousness, the Autobirds and Deceptihogs had joined forces in order to combat an even greater threat; the Eggbots, running wild all over Piggy Island. He tackled this new foe with renewed vigor. The Autobirds' and the Deceptihogs' alliance was a shaky one however. Optimus Prime Bird and Megatron Pig were soon arguing with one another on the battlefield. Grimlock Bird agreed with Bumblebee Bird that the argument was an entertaining one. Once cooler heads prevailed, the fight against the Eggbots began anew.

Hard Boiled Edit

But the EggSpark's influence on Piggy Island began to spiral out of control, forcing the Autobirds to change objectives once more. In order to restore normalcy to Piggy Island, they had to separate the artifact from the land itself. Grimlock Bird was put in charge of keeping the volatile Galvatron Pig restrained while the pigs and the birds made a desperate dash towards the EggSpark's location. At a crucial juncture, Galvatron Pig broke free of his bonds and knocked Grimlock Bird aside. Things got even more complicated when Starscream Pig seized the EggSpark for himself, intending to use its power for his own selfish goals. Grimlock Bird teamed up with Soundwave Pig to take out Galvatron Pig, while Bumblebee Bird managed to launch both Starscream Pig and the EggSpark off-planet. The island and its inhabitants then reverted to their original forms. Hal had no memory of his time as Grimlock Bird, and was baffled when the other birds informed him of how he had acted. He then entertained Terence, Bubbles and Bomb with some tunes from his banjo.

Despite his immense strength, Grey Slam Grimlock Bird is very clumsy, often tripping on his own feet! Despite his grumblings whenever Optimus Prime Bird nags him, Grimlock Bird follows him closely. Robot Birds in Disguise Grey-Slam Grimlock Bird participated in a great big clash against the Deceptihogs in the middle of a desert. As a Telepod figure, Energon Grimlock Bird automatically transforms from dino-vehicle-thing to robot by pushing back his noggin, and back just by pushing him down. He has a scan-code on the bottom of his feet, which allows him to be scanned into the Angry Birds Transformersapp when placed on top of a magnifying Telepods base, included with the set. Doing so repairs in-game Energon Grimlock's damage, and powers him up for a short amount of time.
He was only available as part of a multi-pack with "Energon" versions of Optimus Prime Bird, Lockdown Pig, Soundwave Pig, and Starscream Pig.
